Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea - Australia’s Minister for Cyber Security, Hon. Clare O’Neil, paid a courtesy visit to the Department of Information Communications and Technology (DICT) yesterday afternoon before returning to Australia. During her visit, Minister O’Neil toured the department’s Digital Delivery Wing and observed the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), which is funded by the Australian government. The NCSC is tasked with protecting critical information infrastructure, monitoring and responding to cyber threats, and providing guidance on cybersecurity and awareness. Minister O’Neil expressed her admiration for the presentations by the various divisions within the Digital Government wing, particularly the Government’s Critical Infrastructure and the WebDevOps Division. She highlighted the importance of the citizen's E-Gavman Portal, with its first version featuring the Online Police Clearance service, as a significant priority project. The Cyber Security Minister also took the opportunity to visit the 20 new graduates now participating in the E-Gavman portal internship program.
"I am impressed by the dedication and progress shown by the different divisions, and I am confident that the collaboration between our countries will continue to strengthen cybersecurity efforts," Minister O’Neil remarked. Also read Comments are closed.
