![]() Police Minister Bryan Kramer's attempt to remove former Prime Minister Peter O'Neill from Parliament yesterday for "inappropriate dressing" was rejected by Acting Speaker Konny Iguan. The Member for Ialibu-Pangia entered Parliament chamber wearing a safari suit when Mr Kramer interjected on a Point-of-Order and asked that O'Neill be removed for inappropriate dressing. "Before we progress, I think it's appropriate with Parliament protocols that we have Member for Ialibu-Pangia who is not dressed accordingly," Mr Kramer said.
"In Parliament we have strict dress regulations, suit and tie. "Some of us have been turned away in the past and I think it is only appropriate that the Member for Ialibu-Pangia leave the Chamber because he is not dressed appropriately." Acting Speaker Mr Iguan, after consulting the Clerk of Parliament rejected the Minister's claim. "Minister, the advice I got is the Member is wearing a safari suit and that still fills the Parliament dress code. Your Point of Order is out of order."
