A 25-year-old man of mixed Western and Gulf parentage has been arrested for attempting to edit a police clearance document. The suspect is currently detained for further investigation. The arrest was confirmed by National Capital District Metropolitan Superintendent Silva Sika. According to Superintendent Sika, the suspect was apprehended by police reservists and officers on patrol near the Vision City area on Friday. Superintendent Sika reported that the suspect was an employee of Kisok, a company based at Vision City. The suspect was caught in the act by an off-duty police officer who noticed his suspicious behavior and observed him for some time before alerting nearby police units. The officers promptly arrived at the scene and arrested the man.
"An off-duty police officer observed the man's actions, which raised his suspicions. He then informed other units nearby, who swiftly responded and apprehended the suspect," Superintendent Sika said. Upon questioning, the suspect admitted to editing the police clearance form using a computer. The company manager was contacted and confirmed the suspect's employment but denied any involvement of the company in such illegal activities. Superintendent Sika emphasized the illegality of the act and warned the public against using technology to forge documents such as police clearances and medical reports. He urged individuals to follow the proper procedures to obtain these documents, allowing for necessary checks and verifications. "Everyone must follow the process to get these documents. Forging signatures and documents is a crime," Sika stated. He also commended the efforts of the off-duty officer and the police units who acted swiftly to arrest the suspect. Also read
