![]() Papua New Guinea Minister for Environment Conservation and Climate Change Wera Mori has been appointed as the prime minister's special envoy to the 26th Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow, Scotland, this November. This was made known in an official letter to Minister Mori. James Marape announced the appointment stating that due to the escalating issues of COVID-19 throughout the country, he would not be attending the upcoming COP26 in Glasgow.
He said a formal Instrument of Full Powers is being prepared for Minister Mori to attend the Leaders Summit and other related meetings. Mr Marape said he has every confidence in Minister Mori's leadership in pursuing and progressing Papua New Guinea’s position, interest and support to the global community.
