![]() India has been urged to be the voice the smaller Pacific Island nations to the Global stage on issues relating to climate change and other regional issues. Co-host of the 3rd FIPIC and PNG Prime Minister James Marape used the opportunity during his opening remarks to make the call on behalf of the 14 FIPIC member countries. Prime Minister Marape reiterated the ongoing climate challenges faced by the smaller island states and the need for their voices to be heard clearly at the highest global platforms. Prime Minister Marape called on the Indian Prime Minister, Narindra Modi to take the voice of the Pacific Island nations to big meetings like the G20 and G7 summits. Meantime, keynote speeches by leaders of the Pacific Island countries is currently underway. PNG’s Prime Minister James Marape and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will both deliver the closing remarks at the end of the respective PIC leaders speeches.
