![]() The Papua New Guinea Opposition has tabled in Parliament an amended motion of Vote of no confidence in the Marape led Government today. Leader Belden Namah confirmed with NBC News, the motion is not new but it's an amended motion only substituting the name of the Prime Minister nominee. Ialibu Pangia MP, Peter O'Neill has confirmed with this newsroom, he has been nominated as the alternate PM. When asked if they had the numbers, Mr. O'Neill responded saying, they have a responsibility to hold the Government accountable.
He adds that the motion is expected to be introduced in Parliament, after today. This comes after the National Alliance party leader, Patrick Pruaitch who was the initial nominee for the Opposition as the alternate prime minister, moved to the government and wrote to the speaker of parliament withdrawing his nomination as the alternate PM early this month. The Opposition is calling a press conference when the House adjourns for lunch to give more details. The signatories to the motion and yet to be known .
