He says all tuition fees for students from elementary to secondary schools, including FODE, TVET and Special Education will be paid 100 per cent by the Government. The shocking and disturbing video which was posted on the internet shows an adult female sexually assaulting an infant. The 2-minute 24 seconds video show the woman undressing herself before abusing the child. ![]() Papua New Guinea PRIME Minister James Marape says there is no need for police to use excessive force while carrying out their duties. He told Parliament yesterday that the attack and killing of a policeman in East Sepik would be investigated. Marape was responding to questions raised by Ambunti-Dreikikier MP Johnson Wapunai on the deployment of a police mobile squad to a logging camp in West Sepik. Wapunai said the incident which happened on the border of his district and West Sepik was sad. The Papua New Guinea Prime Minister James Marape has announced the awarding of more than K1.4 billion of several road contracts around the country.
The K1.4 billion worth of road contracts add to those already in place under the Government’s Connect PNG programme, of which about K1 billion had been expended in the past two years on roads. The contracts are for the:
PAPUA New Guinea is one of eight countries who have lost their voting rights in the 193-member United Nations (UN) General Assembly because they have not paid their dues, the UN chief says.
UN secretary-general Antonio Guterres said this in a letter to general assembly president Abdulla Shahid last Wednesday. Also losing voting rights are Vanuatu, Iran, Venezuela, Sudan, Antigua and Barbuda, Republic of Congo and Guinea. The suspension takes effect immediately. ![]() Acting NCD Metropolitan Superintendent Christopher Tamari said two more suspects involved in the Hagara robbery on December 5 were arrested by police early yesterday morning. Mr Tamari said police executed precision raids, which hauled in these two criminals at Erima and Hohola early yesterday. The Acting Metsup said 40 year old Hanaga Robert alias Yanks was caught at Erima yesterday and charged for armed robbery. ![]() The PNG Independent Consumer and Competition Commission or ICCC have clarified that it is authorized under the Prices Regulation Act Chapter 320 (PR Act) to set the Public Motor Vehicle (P-M-V) and Taxi fares of the country. This comes after receiving complaints that some P-M-V operators in Lae went on strike earlier this month after being confronted by commuters because of the increase in fares as approved by the I-Triple-C through National Gazette No. G888 of 2021. ICCC said there are no other government agencies or organisations responsible for setting the fares for PMV both urban and non-urban and Taxi fares. It also said any fees, charges or levies proposed by any other bodies will be illegal. |
